I have a really cute little bookmark craft for you all today. I love shopping for craft supplies around Valentine’s Day – hearts everywhere!
It takes very little in supplies and very little time to make these super cute bookmarks.
What you will need:
- foam heart stickers
- 1 (5/8 inch wide) strand ribbon (cut to however long you want your bookmark to be)
- 3 strands thin ribbon (about 4″ long so they’re easy to tie later)
- 3 heart buttons
- scissors
Take two of the foam stickers and stick them on the bottom of the longer ribbon, back to back, so that they stick together with the ribbon in the middle.
Then, take one of the shorter ribbons and thread it through a button. Slide the button down the ribbon. Tie it tight and cut off the excess. Repeat this with the remaining ribbon and buttons. You can make the ribbons as long or as short as you like, depending on how far you’d like each of them to hang off the top of the bookmark. As you can see in the picture below, I made all three of mine different lengths.
Here is an example of what the buttons look like hanging out of a book at the lengths I used above…
The next step is to take a foam sticker and place it under the top of the ribbon, sticky side up. Place the ribbons with the buttons on top next, like in the middle picture below. On top of that, place another foam sticker, sticky side down, to secure the ribbons.
And now you’re all done! Easy right? I hope you have fun making these lovely little bookmarks!
Not only is this craft very simple, but there is no glue involved which makes this a very non-messy craft for the kiddos. Also, these would also make great little gifts to put in with Valentine’s Day cards.
